Programme Highlight

HKIE Civil Division has joined with Hong Kong Institution of Highways and Transportation (HKIHT) to organize a Technical Site Visit to the Central Kowloon Route – Yau Ma Tei East project.

Contract No. HY/2014/08, titled “Central Kowloon Route – Yau Ma Tei East”, mainly comprise the construction of an approximately 390 metres long tunnel between Yau Cheung Road and Shanghai Street. To facilitate the construction works, the project involves demolition of existing buildings such as the iconic Yau Ma Tei Multi-storey Carpark Building. The scope also include works like design and construction of noise barriers and noise enclosures, re-provisioning of buildings and the Gascoigne Road Flyover.

This site visit will begin with a brief introduction to the project, the current progress and the challenges the project team faces. Then it is followed by a visit to a few site locations.

• The maximum number of participants is limited to 25 on a first-come-first-served basis, with priority given to members of the HKIE Civil Division / HKIHT.
• The deadline for registration is 2/12/2024. The confirmation will be sent out on 4/12/2024.
• Applicants who have already successfully registered to or participated in more than FIVE (5) visits organised by Civil Division in the session 2023-24 will be given lower priority during the registration process.
• Safety shoes are required for the visit.
