Programme Highlight

Areas along and adjacent to Chatham Road South between Granville Road and Austin Avenue in Tsim Sha Tsui has first appeared with flooding since 1995 and is one of the four flooding blackspots currently remained in Hong Kong. This project of Contract No. DC/2022/01 is to alleviate the future flooding hazard, comprising of stormwater pumping scheme and the associated drainage improvement works. This Contract includes the following works:

• An underground stormwater storage tank, a pump house, associated pipeworks, electrical & mechanical (E&M) works;
• Construction of break pressure chamber connecting to an existing box culvert and modification of the existing box culvert;
• Drainage works by trenchless construction method beneath Chatham Road South, Austin Avenue, Observatory Road, Granville Road and Cameron Road as well as minor works by open trench method;
• Re-provision of a new LCSD’s toilet and demolition of the existing LCSD’s toilet and its associated utilities;
• Reinstatement of the Urban Council Centenary Garden
• Transplanting works
• Utility diversions

• Applicants who have already successfully registered to or participated in more than FIVE (5) visits organised by Civil Division in the session 2024-25 will be given lower priority during the process of registration.
