Programme Highlight
Contract HY/2014/07, Central Kowloon Route(CKR) – Kai Tak West(KTW) involves the construction of approximately 160m long cut-and-cover tunnel and 370m underwater tunnel between drill-and-blast tunnel section at Ma Tau Kok and the depressed road of Central Kowloon Route within Kai Tak Development. There is also an approximately 125m long depressed road and 200m long underpass of Central Kowloon Route connecting with future road sections with Kai Tak Development. The project also includes the reconstruction of an existing seawall, underground tunnel ventilation adit, associated noise enclosure and other welfare facilities. The project commenced in January 2018 and anticipated completion in 2025.
This site visit will begin with a visit to the CKR Community Liaison Centre where our members can learn about the whole CKR development and CKR-KTW. It is then followed by a visit to an underwater tunnel cofferdam where the site staff will introduce the construction of the underwater tunnel cofferdam and the cut & cover tunnel. Finally, we will visit the Smart Site Management Hub with an introduction to the hub and a demonstration of Safety and Progress monitoring through the hub.
