Programme Highlight
The speakers will recap on the key messages of the Construction Safety Week (CSW) in 2016 and the focus in the coming CSW 2017. Some recent incidents related to failure of temporary works with diagnosis will be shared with the members. The seminar will also cover the mechanism of ensuring safety of temporary works including design, installation, operation and dismantling, with some good examples. Way forward of further enhancing safety of temporary works will also be discussed.
Speakers
1. Ir Dr CHEUNG Wai-man, Raymond, Chief Assistant Secretary (Works) - Development Bureau, HKSAR Government
Ir Dr Cheung has been involved in a number of mega projects, including Airport Railway, Chek Lap Kok New Airport site formation and Western Harbour Crossing, before joining the HKSAR Government in the late 1990s. He is currently working in the Works Policies Section of the Development Bureau.
2. Ir LAM Kai-yung, Henry, Assistant Secretary (Works) - Development Bureau, HKSAR Government
Ir Lam has about 20 years' experience in managing civil engineering works. He is currently working in the Works Policies Section of the Development Bureau and is looking after construction site safety.
