Best Final Year Project Competition

The objective of the HKIE Civil Division Best Final Year Project Award 2021/22 is to recognize civil engineering undergraduates who have completed outstanding final year projects that may help promote civil engineering advancement in the civil engineering industry.

Eligibility
The Award is open to students of all tertiary institutions studying degree courses in civil engineering in Hong Kong.  Entries to the Award are subject to nomination by the respective tertiary institutions.

Application
An electronic copy of the submission in .docx format together with the application form should be submitted to HKIE CVD by e-mail at bestfyp.hkiecvd@gmail.com on or before 15 June 2022 by the respective tertiary institutions.  A maximum of THREE entries can be submitted by each tertiary institution.
A 15-minute interview will be conducted for each entry at the end of June 2022.  The interview will be divided into two parts - a 10-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A.

Requirements
The submission shall be:-

• based on the student’s Final Year Project;
• properly referenced;
• type-written in English with text style Times New Roman and font size 10;
• include the title of the paper, name (English and Chinese) of the student, abstract, keywords, body text, figures, tables and list of references in no more than 6 pages of A4 paper with 25mm margin on all four sides.
• Selection Process

A judging panel formed by five Committee members of the Civil Division of HKIE will evaluate the submissions and conduct the interviews.  Prizes will be awarded to the 12 best entries that are judged to be of a sufficiently high standard in terms of accuracy of the technical aspect.
