Technical Seminar on Reclamation in Hong Kong

Programme Highlight
The speaker will provide an overview of the history of reclamation in Hong Kong, discuss the methods of reclamation and construction of seawall - past and present as well as the use of marine plant, touch on the environmental impacts caused by large scale reclamation and highlight the challenges and innovations developed by engineers.
Also the speaker will discuss the construction problems in newly reclaimed land, and the Ground Improvement Methods commonly adopted in Hong Kong.
Participants will be awarded 1.5 CPD hours.

Mr. T.S. Cheng
Mr. CHENG Tak Sum has over 40 years of experience in heavy civil construction covering reclamation, roads and drainage, tunnels and site formation. He has served various senior supervisory and management positions in top local contractors and is a well-known engineer in the construction industry.

The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese. Presentation materials will be in English.
The number of participants is limited to 80 and priority will be given to members of Civil Division and previous registered participants.
