Technical Visit to Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel (Main Tunnel) (Contract No. NE/2015/01)

Programme highlight:

The Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel is a dual-two lane highway of approximately 4.2 km long, connecting Tseung Kwan O and East Kowloon. The Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel, together with the Trunk Road T2 in Kai Tak Development and Central Kowloon Route, will form Route 6 in the strategic road network providing an express link between Kowloon West and Tseung Kwan O. The Route 6 will also mitigate the road traffic condition of central and eastern Kowloon.

Contract NE/2015/01 is one of the major projects in the Tseung Kwan O - Lam Tin Tunnel. This included construction of the main tunnel of the TKO-LT Tunnel, construction of tunnel portal facilities and ventilation building at TKO, construction of slip roads, branch tunnels, viaducts, Lam Tin Interchange, tunnel portal facilities, ventilation building and administration building at Kwun Tong, and implementation of the associated building, civil, structural, marine, electrical and mechanical, landscaping and environmental protection and mitigation works.

This technical visit will start with a brief introduction to NE/2015/01 and follow by site walk to major facilities on site.

• Number of participants is limited to 20 on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to members of HKIE Civil Division.
• Applicants who have already successfully registered to or participated in more than FIVE (5) visits organised by Civil Division in the session 2017-18 will be given lower priority during the process of registration.
