Programme highlights
Participants will visit the Earthquake Engineering Research and Test Centre at the Guangzhou University, view the shaking table facilities and isolation technologies. Participants will also see how isolation techniques are applied to the structures to reduce damage during earthquake.

Speaker
Prof Zhou Fulin is a well-known expert in earthquake engineering and director of the university's Earthquake Engineering Research and Test Centre. He has been in charge of 11 research projects supported by the National Science Fund and the US Science Fund, the Sino-US joint technological projects and UNIDO scientific and technological research projects. Prof Zhou has published 100 research papers (in Chinese or English). He was the winner of the 2nd Class National Prize for Scientific and Technological Advancement, 1st Class Prize for Scientific and Technological Advancement awarded by the Ministry of Construction and 1st Class Prize for Scientific and Technological Advancement awarded by Guangdong Province.
