Programme Highlights
Ir Mak Chai-kwong JP, the Immediate Past Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), have served the government for more than 30 years. He served the HK Government as assistant engineer in 1976, chief engineer in 1994 and principal government engineer in 2000, with his career associated with the development of Hong Kong's railway system and new territories development. He was appointed as Director of Highways in November 2002, Permanent Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works (Works) as of July 2007 and Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), responsible for various important works policy, infrastructure projects delivery and the recently concerned heritage conservation in Hong Kong.
Having been one of the dominant persons in the Hong Kong engineering sector, Ir Mak will share his career life in the government and a few infrastructure projects he managed in the past 30 years.
