Programme Highlights

This works contract of CWB project mainly includes construction of tunnel structure in the ex-Wan Chai Public Cargo Working Area (ex-PCWA) and Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter (CBTS) with the associated temporary reclamation and the subsequent removal of the temporary reclamation after completion of tunnel structure, and construction of mined tunnel beneath existing Cross Harbour Tunnel. The tunnel section at ex-PCWA and CBTS is constructed under Cut-and-Cover method, which involves a large scale of excavation and lateral support system down to the formation level for tunnel structure construction.

^# The inclusion of a tour to the construction site is subject to the weather, current works progress or other unforeseen situations on site visit day.

Safety Equipment

Participants must bring along their own safety helmets, safety reflective vest, safety shoes and a valid Green Card (or HKIE Corporate Membership Card) if available.

The number of participants open for HKIE member is limited to 25 on a first-come first-served basis.

As of 6:00pm 11 May 2012, the number of registrants exceeded the allowable. The on-line registration is closed.

Remarks

If any successfully enrolled participant does not turn up on the date of site visit without good reasons, his/her right to enroll HKIE Civil Division site visits will be suspended for 3 months after the date of the captioned site visit.
