Programme Highlights
In recent decades, concerns on fire safety designs associated with infrastructure projects are undoubtedly increasing. The bigger the size of infrastructure projects, the bigger challenge on the fire safety design. An example, tunnels by nature have limited accessibility for fire fighting and rescue. Fire risk in tunnels is a result of the system involving design provision, operation, emergency response and tunnel use.
The theme of the seminar is “When Civil Engineers meet Fire Engineers” and focus on the fire safety and practices in civil infrastructure projects. The seminar aims to facilitate the exchange of new ideas from recent significant projects in relation to Civil and Fire Engineering and address the challenges of the construction and impact of the fire safety design. Ir C.K. HON, JP, Director of Civil Engineering and DevelopmentDepartment, is the Guest of Honour. Prominent speakers will share their experiences and insights with local experts and audience of the event. This joint seminar consists of papers from both Civil and Fire Divisions including projects from CEDD, MTRCL, Airport, etc.
