Programme Highlights

The Civil Division Chairman, Ir Eric CHAN will lead this delegation to visit the metro infrastructure of the new Purple line and Blue Line extension under construction in Bangkok. It will be hosted by the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand.

The Blue Line Extension

The project is a 27 km extension to from a quasi circle line (loop) consisting of 19 stations (4 underground stations and 15 elevated stations).

The Purple Line

The project was granted a 30 year concession to a private operator. Construction is divided into three separate contracts. The first covers a long span bridge, with a length of 12 km, comprising nine stations. The second contract covers a new bridge and a terminus, with a length of 11 km and comprising seven stations. The third contract is for the construction of a train depot at the terminus and four park and ride buildings at the Intersection station.

Fee:

HK$5,600 (on shared room basis)

Because of the red warning to tourists to Thailand announced on 2 December 2013 due to the unstable environment there, this delegation was suspended until further notice.
