Programme Highlights

An overview of the history and development of the railway network in Hong Kong will be presented.  Particular emphasis will be on the recommendations made in the Railway Development Strategy 2014 announced in September this year.

Speaker

Mr. Robert Chan has worked in the Highways Department of the HKSAR Government for over 20 years, and is currently a Chief Engineer in the Railway Development Office.  He took part in the management of major works projects such as Western Harbour Crossing, Deep Bay Link and Central Kowloon Route.  In the Railway Development Office, he is responsible for the Review and Update of the Second Railway Development Strategy Study, as well as providing technical support to concerned Government bureaux anddepartments on railway development and planning matters.
