Programme Highlights
The Phase IIIA of the Hong Kong District Cooling System (DCS) Project in Kai Tak Development involves construction of 2.5km long of sleeve pipelines (alignment length), with diameter from 1.2m to 2.8m, in a depth range of 4m to 25m, mostly by TBM pipejacking method for installation of DCS pipelines, whereas 0.3km long of DCS pipelines (alignment length) are constructed by open trench method. Apart from the sharing of the design and construction of a twin 2.8m diameter sleeve pipelines (each 350m long) 10m below seabedcrossing the 230m wide Kai Tak Approach Channel, other constructiontechniques adopted to suit the site constraints will be discussed in the meeting.
