Programme Highlight
The Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macao Bridge (HZMB) is a mega-size sea crossing linking the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Zhuhai City of Guangdong Province and Macao Special Administrative Region. HZMB is the longest sea crossing bridge in the world. After nine-year construction phase, the grand opening of HZMB took place on 22 October 2018. In the point of view of engineers, from feasibility study, detailed design to construction phase, there were many engineering challenges.
In this seminar the speaker will share his experience in developing the methodology, outline the design principles and construction aspects of the scheme, discuss the benefits of the methodology and lesson learnt in the mega-size project. The speaker will also discuss the construction methods, engineering challenges and design characteristics of the HZMB Main Bridge and the Hong Kong section.
