Programme Highlight
Cement treatment of the in situ weak ground is getting popular in Hong Kong, for instance, the recent application in a few reclamation works. Dr Ay Lee, SAW will share her knowledge and experience on the application of cement-treated soil in Singapore and Hong Kong. Her presentation will cover various aspects of the subject including the behavior of cement-treated soil, design, construction and quality control/assurance of cement-treated soil on field. She will also discuss some of the challenges relating to the general practice of this ground improvement method.

Speakers
Dr. Ay Lee, SAW obtained her first-class honours degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University Technology of Malaysia. Following her graduation, she gained a breadth of experience in the design of excavation, slope stability and ground improvement works through different projects in Singapore. She further obtained her PhD from National University of Singapore in cement-treated soil column in 2014 then joined Golder Associates in Hong Kong. She has been invited by various geotechnical societies to deliver ground improvement seminars in Singapore and Hong Kong. She is currently providing geotechnical expert support service especially DCM related advisory for the HK Airport Authority in HKIA 3rd Runway reclamation works.
