Programme Highlight
In collaboration with the Hong Kong Government, the Construction Industry Council (CIC) developed the Zero Carbon Building (ZCB), the Hong Kong's first zero carbon building, with a vision to promote good practices to the construction industry about environmental protection and sustainable construction.
The ZCB generates on-site renewable energy from photovoltaic panels and a tri-generation system using biofuel made of waste cooking oil and achieves zero net carbon emissions on an annual basis. It is a pioneering and inspiring project which not only serves as a platform to share knowledge and expertise in low/zero carbon building design and technologies, but also helps to raise community awareness of low carbon living.
