Programme Highlight

Security of Payment Legislation (SOPL) promotes fair payment and helps main contractors, consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers to receive payment on time for work done and services provided.  Similar legislations have been enacted overseas since 1996.  There have been voices in the local construction industry advocating the introduction of SOPL.

The Development Bureau conducted a public consultation on the proposed SOPL in June 2015.  The responses to the public consultation show that there is a general public support on the proposed legislation.

In the seminar, the speakers will cover the background leading to the proposed SOPL, the legislative framework of the proposed SOPL and the way forward for legislation.

Only successful applicants will be informed by email.  CPD certificate will be issued at the end of the seminar. The seminar will be conductedin English.
